In September, Dr Kedar Mehta and Bertha Lwakatare (both THI) represented the SWITCH project at the prestigious 5th International Conference on Solar Technology in Mallorca, Spain. The conference served as an important platform to discuss the latest advances in solar energy, with key topics including grid integration, off-grid solutions and stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems. During the conference, Dr Mehta and Ms Lwakatare presented the ongoing progress in the development of the SWITCH project’s agri-PV sizing tool. The team was able to highlight SWITCH’s innovative approaches and potential impact on the integration of agriculture and solar energy production. The presentation sparked a lively discussion on possible ways to further develop the tool and its applicability in different geographical contexts.
